What happens at our headshot session?
Getting headshots is a lot more than just getting pictures of yourself. We use different lighting, mood and backgrounds during the shoot to make sure you get great photos for your needs. Afterward we review all angles so that when it comes time to choose from our selection of prints or digital files they’re exactly what you want
It doesn’t matter if someone seems nervous – even in front me at first- I always try my best yet still have fun engaging with them while making their session enjoyable.

What do I wear for a headshot photography session?
You want to allow your personality to come across so keep your clothing choices simple. Try and avoid patterns and keep to plain clothing and subtle colours or black and white.
If you are attending an on-location portrait session make sure you are comfortable walking to your location. You don’t want to be worrying about uncomfortable clothing or shoes.
Do I need to book hair and makeup?
Well, that depends on how much you like to get glammed up! We do not provide any stylists or makeup artists. Some photographers may allow for this but it is important that they are used in conjunction with the photographer’s style and not completely different ones.
What should I do before my headshot session?
Well, another good question is what should you not do! Try and avoid red-eye flights the day of your shoot, but if this is unavoidable make sure you are well-rested. Try and avoid big dinners or lunches before the session too, but good coffee is always great to get your energy levels up! If you can bring some snacks it is also really important not to arrive hungry.
Styling for my headshot?
Women – avoid large earrings or bracelets that may distract from the presentation of your face. Please try and keep things simple when it comes to jewellery. It’s not the time to have lots of glitzy statement pieces on so leave the big earrings at home.
Men – well-groomed facial hair can look great on men, but it’s best to have a clean shave for your headshot than a days growth unless that’s how you normally present yourself of course.
For your hair try and ensure that it hasn’t been freshly dyed or highlighted for the headshot shoot. It’s best to go with a natural colouration, but if you do choose to add blonde highlights or other changes this is fine as long as they are subtle.
Where do the sessions take place?
We come to your office in London or on location if you prefer. Our lighting system is very portable and we only need a small office space to use as a makeshift studio. We cover all areas of London and also travel across the south of England so if you are in Surrey, Kent, East or West Sussex we can accommodate you with our portable studio solution.
